(e) Fog Oil Pump Assembly. A fog oil pump assembly (Figure 1-11) is mounted to the
top of the fog oil tank. The fog oil pump assembly consists of two in-line fog oil pumps (1), two
strainers (2), and supporting cables and hoses. The same fog oil pump assembly is used for both the
M1059 and the M157/M998. One fog oil pump with strainer and hoses is dedicated to each M54 Smoke
Generator.

During operation the pump draws fog oil from the tank. The fog oil passes through a strainer, flows
through the fog oil pump, and then flows to one of the M54 Smoke Generators.
(f) Air Compressor Assembly. The air compressor assembly (Figure 1-12) consists of a
compressor motor (1), air filters (2), an air tank (3), a purge valve (4), and supporting cables and hoses.
The air compressor assembly provides air for purging and starting the M54 Smoke Generator. During
operation the compressor motor activates whenever the air pressure inside
