Step 4.
Close the catch on the nozzle clamp and tighten the clamp nut.

Cover Assembly. Service the cover assembly by following these procedures:
Step 1.
Inspect the cable and the hoses for rips, tears, leaks, and dry rot. Report damaged
parts to organizational maintenance.
Step 2.
Inspect the cable and the hose connections for damaged parts and leaks. Report
damaged parts to organizational maintenance.
4.
Frame Assembly. Service the frame assembly by following these procedures:
Step 1.
Inspect all bolts for tightness. If any bolts are loose, tighten them using a suitable
wrench.
Step 2.
Position a suitable container under the drip pan shutoff cock. Open the shutoff
cock and allow fog oil and other wastes to drain into the container. Close the
shutoff cock. Dispose of drained wastes according to local SOPs.
PART B: PERFORM OPERATOR MAINTENANCE ON THE FOG OIL TANK ASSEMBLY
To ensure a reliable fog oil supply, the smoke generator operator must perform operator maintenance on
the fog oil tank assembly. This includes maintenance on the tank and the strainer. Figure 2-3 illustrates
the procedures that follow.
1.
Tank. Follow these procedures to service the tank:
Step 1.
Inspect the tank for holes, dents, and leaks. Report damage to organizational
maintenance.
Step 2.
Inspect the sight glasses (1) for broken glass, leaks, and cleanliness. Report
damage to organizational maintenance. Clean the sight glasses with a clean, dry
rag.
Step 3.
Inspect the retainer straps (2) to ensure the tank is securely mounted to the
baseplate(3). Report damage to organizational maintenance.
