Step 2.
Inspect the cable plug for tightness.
If it is loose, tighten it with a suitable
wrench.
Step 3.
Inspect the hose connections for leaks and damaged parts. Report damage to
organizational maintenance.

maintenance includes the air compressor and the air tank. Discussion of these procedures follows.
1.
Air Compressor. Follow these procedures to service the air compressor (Figure 2-5):
Step 1.
Turn the air filter cover (1) a quarter turn counterclockwise and remove it from
the air compressor.
Step 2.
Remove the mechanical felt filter (2) from the inlet port. Inspect the filter for
tears and cleanliness. Report damage to organizational maintenance. Clean the
filter with compressed air.
Step 3.
Reinstall the mechanical felt filter (2). Secure the air filter (1) cover by turning it
a quarter turn clockwise.
Step 4.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the second air filter.
Step 5.
Inspect all cables and hoses for rips, tears, leaks, and dry rot. Report damage to
organizational maintenance.
2.
Air Tank. Follow these procedures to service the air tank (Figure 2-6):
Step 1.
Inspect the tank for holes and dents.
Report damage to organizational
maintenance.
Step 2.
Press the button on the air tank purge valve (1) to release any condensation that
may have formed inside the air tank.
