Spare Equipment and Miscellaneous NBC Items
Your unit will be authorized a certain percentage of NBC equipment above the per soldier or
equipment item issue basis. Also, at any one time, the event of having all items of NBC
equipment issued to NBC teams, sections, or individuals is most unlikely. Spare equipment such
as protective masks, overgarments, radiacmeters, and chemical agent detector kits must be stored
at a location within the unit. The location will be determined by the commander.
As the NBC defense officer or NCO, part of your responsibility will be to determine the
authorized NBC equipment and supplies for your unit, and the prescribed method of distributing
them in your unit You must insure that proper issue, maintenance, and control are accomplished.
