PART E: PERFORM OPERATOR MAINTENANCE ON THE CONTROL PANEL
The final component on which the generator operator will be required to perform operator maintenance
is the control panel. Figure 2-7 illustrates the control panel. Follow these procedures to service the
control panel:
Step 1.
If the vehicle engine is not already running, start the vehicle engine.
CAUTION
The M157 Smoke Generator System draws its electrical power from the
batteries of the vehicle it is mounted on. The vehicle engine must be
running whenever the set is operational to prevent draining the batteries on
the vehicle.
Step 2.
Check cables and cable connections on top of the control panel for tears, dry rot,
and damaged parts. Report damage to organizational maintenance.
Step 3.
Set the circuit breaker CB1 switch (1) and both power switches (2) to the ON
position. Check to ensure that both power indicator lights come on.
