b. Set circuit breaker CB1 to the ON position.
(1) If circuit breaker CB1 stays in the ON position, the vehicle cable assembly has a short
circuit. Set CB1 to OFF; then reconnect the cable. Notify organizational maintenance.
(2) If circuit breaker CB1 moves to the OFF position, the control panel has a short circuit.
Reconnect the cable and notify organizational maintenance.
PART B -- PERFORM OPERATOR-LEVEL TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
WHEN CIRCUIT BREAKER CB1 MOVES TO THE OFF POSITION
WHEN A POWER SWITCH IS SET TO THE ON POSITION
This part discusses operator troubleshooting procedures when circuit breaker CB1 moves to the OFF
position when a power switch on the control panel is placed in the ON position. Correct this
malfunction by following these procedures:
Step 1.
Start the vehicle engine if it is not already running.
Step 2.
Check for a short circuit in the air compressor assembly.
a. Disconnect the cable assembly from connector 2J1 at the air compressor (refer to Figure 4-1
on page 4-3).
b. Set circuit breaker CB1 and the power switch to the ON position.
(1) If circuit breaker CB1 stays in the ON position, the air compressor assembly has a short
circuit. Set the power switch and CB1 to OFF; then reconnect the cable. Notify organizational
maintenance.
(2) If circuit breaker CB1 moves to the OFF position, the malfunction is not in the air
compressor assembly. Set the power switch to OFF; reconnect the cable, and go to the next step.
Step 3.
Check for a short circuit in the air compressor cable.
a. Disconnect the cable assembly from connector 1J2 at the control panel (refer to Figure 4-2 on
page 4-3).
b. Set circuit breaker CB1 and the power switch to the ON position.
