Step 5.
Check for a short circuit in the smoke generator cable from the vehicle adapter
assembly (located under the front of each smoke generator on the M1059).
a. Disconnect the cable assembly from the connector at the vehicle adapter assembly (Figure 4-
4).

b. Set circuit breaker CB1 and the power switch to the ON position.
(1) If circuit breaker CB1 stays in the ON position, the cable assembly from the adapter to
the generator has a short circuit. Set the power switch and CB1 to OFF; then reconnect the cable.
Notify organizational maintenance.
(2) If circuit breaker CB1 moves to the OFF position, set the power switch to OFF; then
reconnect the cable and go to the next step.
Step 6.
Check for a short circuit in the smoke generator cable assembly from the control
panel.
a. Disconnect the cable assembly from connector 1J3 for generator No. 1 or connector 1J4 for
generator No. 2 at the control panel (Figure 4-5).
