The Radiation Status of Survey Personnel. The radiation status of survey personnel will affect the
amount of information to be obtained. Personnel who have already received a significant radiation dose
should not be used for surveys. If they must be used, they will only be able to remain in the
contaminated area for a limited time. Again, the limited time will affect the area which can be surveyed
and the number of readings which can be obtained. NBCE personnel will use the radiation dose status
information which is maintained at the NBCE to recommend survey personnel and allowed radiation
exposures for the survey.
