Suction Hose. The Suction hose is 27 feet long with quick-disconnect coupling halves on both ends. If
the suction hose does not have two quick-disconnect coupling halves, notify organizational maintenance
personnel. A foot valve assembly is attached to the inlet end to prevent large pieces of foreign matter
from entering the pump. The suction hose is used when pumping water from an external source. The
foot valve holds the water in the suction hose. A nonmetallic washer seals the suction hose connection.
When the suction hose is not in use, it is stowed on top of the tank unit.
