PART B: PREPARE AN NBC 3 (NUCLEAR) REPORT

(Nuclear) Report standardized by Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 2103.
This message is used to issue an immediate warning of expected
contamination resulting from a nuclear detonation. The detailed fallout
prediction plot may be disseminated as an NBC 3 (Nuclear) Report to other
staff agencies both within and outside the TOC and to higher, adjacent
and subordinate units, as appropriate, and as indicated in the SOP.
To understand the NBC 3 (Nuclear) Report you must know:
What information is contained in the report.

a. Information Contained in the NBC 3 (Nuclear) Report.
The NBC 3 (Nuclear) Report consists of two parts. The heading of the
report consists of administrative information. The body of the report
consists of a series of lettered lines containing information pertaining
The heading of the report will
contain the following information by line.
(1) Precedence:
This line contains the communications precedence assigned to the message.
This is usually IMMEDIATE.
(2) Date/Time:
This line will contain the date and time the message is sent. The time
can be in either local or ZULU time; however, it must be indicated which
type of time is used.
(3) Security Classification:
This line will contain the security classification of the message.
Normally, the classification will be UNCLASSIFIED; however, there may be
instances where, because of unusual circumstance or by unit standing
operating procedure, a higher classification may be warranted.
(4) From:
This line will identify the agency preparing the message.
