Dissemination Methods
Methods of dissemination include:
Field radio
Field telephone
Radioteletype communications
Message center distribution
1.
Field Radio.
The field radio using the G3/S3 operations net is an excellent means of
disseminating NBC 3 (Nuclear) Reports.
You must consider other
battlefield operations in progress at that time and the impact of "tying-
up" the net for the period required for dissemination of the message.
With this means of dissemination, it is possible to transmit the message
to a large number of units in a single transmission.
2.
Field Telephone.
The field telephone system, landline communications, is also an excellent
means of disseminating NBC 3 (Nuclear) Reports. You have an opportunity
to talk directly to the individual who will process the information.
normally you must contend with the time consuming process of contacting
each unit individually.
3.
(Nuclear) Reports to a number of units simultaneously; however, it is not
uncommon for transmission errors to render a message unusable and may
require retransmission.
4.
Message Center Distribution.
Distribution of NBC 3 (Nuclear) Reports through the Adjutant General (AG)
Message Center is a good back-up method of dissemination. This method
can provide the units a typed or handwritten copy of the report
accompanied by an overlay. Unless an AG courier run is pending, there
could be a considerable delay before the information is received by the
using units.
