(1) Use the steps listed below and illustrated in Figure 3-3 to determine the RES of Company
A on 1 June.
Step 1. Refer to Figure 3-1 to find the total number of platoons in Company A on 1 June. The
total is four.
NOTE: The Engineer Platoon is not counted because it was not attached to the company until 2
June.
Step 2. Add the RES numbers for all the platoons in Company A. The total is four. Now in Figure
3-3 find where the number four fits under the column for four platoons.
Step 3. Read the RES, which is on the same line as the total of RES numbers (2 - 5).
Step 4. The RES of Company A is RES-1.
