Step 4. Remove the flexible spout from the gasoline can and install the cap on the gasoline can.
Step 5. Wipe the flexible spout dry and return it to the tool roll.
Step 6. Open the fuel drain cock on the bottom of the fuel tank and drain any water.
Step 7. Disconnect the flexible tube at the engine head and drain any water from the float bowl by
opening the float bowl toggle valve.
Step 8. Adjust the float bowl if necessary.
Fueling the Generator With Fog Oil. Procedures for fueling the generator with fog oil are the following:
Step 1. Remove the bungs from the fog oil drum.
Step 2. Inspect the fog oil inlet hose to ensure it is serviceable.
Step 3. Inspect the fog oil sediment strainer and clean if necessary.
Step 4. Insert the fog oil inlet and exhaust hoses into the fog oil drum.
Step 5. Check the position of the fog oil metering globe valve by turning it clockwise as far as it will go.
Step 6. Place a CO2 fire extinguisher near smoke generator.
Before-Operation Checks
After the generator has been fueled, perform the additional before-operation checks found in
Figure 18, which is an extract from TM 3-1040-276-10.
