Maintenance of the M2 Water Heat. Maintenance of the M2 Water Heater will
be performed using the following steps.
Step 1.
Clean all parts in dry-cleaning solvent (SD).
Step 2.
Inspect the fuel-supply and fuel-return lines and flare nuts for
evidence of leaks or damage. Inspect the condition of the heat-reflective
tape and rubber grommets. Inspect the condition of the stud fasteners and
inspect for bent panels. Inspect all electrical components and wiring for
defects; see that all connections are tight. Inspect the condition of the
protective plug, protective cap, and dust cap.
Inspect the fuel filter
shell for evidence of leaks.
While the M2 Water Heater is operating,
inspect for evidence of steam leaks around the refractory gasket between the
firebox and the end of the boiler. If the fuel filter shell leaks or the
fuel filter must be replaced, notify organizational maintenance personnel.
Step 3.
If the heat-reflective tape or rubber grommets must be replaced,
notify organizational maintenance personnel.
Replace the gaskets in the
water hose, if required.
